Teddy’s Ice Cream Truck

Join us for a free Teddy’s Ice Cream during the conference. Teddy’s Ice Cream is Dublin’s best known and loved ice cream since 1950. It is an institution– just ask any Dubliner!

Teddy’s is the home to the 99 whipped ice cream cone in Ireland. A 99  Flake is a summer tradition all around in Ireland. There are different stories behind the ice cream’s famous name. Some people say they were named 99s because they used to cost 99p. Another common story is that it comes from the days on the monarchy in Italy where the King had an elite guard consisting of 99 soldiers. After this, anything very special or ‘first class’ was known as ‘99’. When Cadbury launched it’s chocolate Flake for ice creams in 1930, the majority of ice cream merchants were Italian. So, they called this elite ice cream, a 99.

When? Friday 26th August 2022, from  12:30 – 14:30.

Where? At the conference venue – Trinity College Dublin.

How can I get a free ice cream? As a registered conference delegate you will be given a ticket which you can redeem for a free Teddy’s Ice Cream during the conference.
